View from the top
After strolling up to the third floor of the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art via its stunning glass staircase, entering Fresco can feel like stepping into another world. The main dining room boasts wall-to-wall windows that provide panoramic views of downtown Madison and the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art’s sculpture garden. During warmer months, Fresco has plenty of outdoor seating in the Sculpture garden as well as an outdoor lounge, an ideal spot for casual and relaxed events like corporate happy hours, birthday parties, or any warm weather get-together.
Modern dining in Madison
The essence of Fresco is its menu – a thoughtfully prepared combination of fresh, seasonal offerings and contemporary twists on the classics. Fresco’s chefs have a deep appreciation for fresh, local ingredients, sourced directly when possible from the Dane County Farmers’ Market, just two blocks away on the Capitol Square. Fresco’s seasonal menus are always always changing and a delight to explore. Fresco’s staff also understands the complex dietary restrictions of its customers and works hard to accommodate vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, nut-free and gluten-sensitive diners, too.
A sophisticated collection of drinks
Enjoy exceptional views of Madison while sipping signature cocktails, beer or wine from Fresco’s well-curated list of offerings. Fresco has a section of the cocktail menu dedicated to delicious drinks inspired by present and past MMoCA exhibitions. Sommelier and Food Fight Chief Creative Officer Caitlin Suemnicht brings her extensive experience and wine expertise to Fresco, where she has selected 60 wines designed to complement items on every seasonal menu. Fresco’s wines are a highlight of any visit; grouped by flavor profile instead of grape varietal, it’s an intuitive way for guests to read and select wines from the menu.
